General Information on Sheriff's Sales:

The Sequoyah County Sheriff is ordered to sell foreclosed property.

The sale dates and times, case number and style, dates published and where published will be listed below for sales held in the files of the Sequoyah County Sheriff's Department. The complete document can be found in the listed newspaper.

As required by law, the opening bid on any property sold at Sheriff's Sale will be two-third's of the appraissed value.

Before bidding, you should check with the Sequoyah County Treasurer to see if the property has a tax lien against it. You may wish to take this into consideration before bidding.

The Sequoyah County Sheriff's Department does not have access to any of the listed properties for viewing prior to the sale, nor are we aware if the property is currently occupied. For further information, you may contact the attorney listed in the published notice of sale.

All sales are held at the north door of the Sequoyah County Courthouse, located at 120 East Chickasaw Street, Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Sales may be recalled at any time prior to the sale date and time by the representing attorney. These sales are sometimes rescheduled after being republished in a legal newspaper.

There is no pre-registration required in order to bid on sale property. If you are the successful bidder, you may be required to place on file with the Sequoyah County Court Clerk, a cashier's check in the amount of 10% of the purchase price within 24 hours of the sale. The balance will be due and payable at the time of confirmation. Sale confirmations usually range from 30 to 60 days after the date of sale.

Upon being informed of the confirmation of sale, the Sequoyah County Sheriff will issue a Sheriff's Deed to the property.
