FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q. Does
the sheriff's office do fingerprinting for concealed carry, teaching
credentials, security guard and other
licenses? How much does it cost?
A. Yes. We do fingerprinting at our business office located at 119
South Oak Street, Sallisaw, OK, during regular office hours. The cost is
$5 per fingerprint card. We use Livescan technology. This is an inkless
way to fingerprint. Unfortunately, we are only allowed to use Livescan
to fingerprint for Oklahoma agencies. If you need to be fingerprinted
for another state or for a federal license, you will need to report to
your local police department to be fingerprinted with the old-fashioned
ink method.
Q. Can I be fingerprinted at the Sequoyah
County Sheriff's Department for my hazardous materials handling license
or endorsement?
A. No. The Sallisaw Police Department
holds a contract for these fingerprint services using the old ink type
method. You will need to make an appointment with them at (918)775-4173
to arrange for fingerprinting.
Q. Does
the sheriff's office take photographs for concealed carry, passports or
other licenses? How much does it cost?
A. Yes. We take both concealed carry and passport photos. The
photos you receive will be two (2) identical photos on a single sheet,
side by side. The cost is $10.
Q. How
much does it cost to have civil process papers served?
A. For each person to be served, the cost is $50.
Q. Does the Sequoyah County Sheriff's Department operate the jail?
A. No. The jail is operated by the Sequoyah County Criminal
Justice Authority.
Q. How
can I contact someone at the jail to find out about inmate visitation,
bond issues or leaving property or cash for an inmate?

(918)776-0524 or (918)776-0536. The jail administration office number is
(918)776-9028.
